Michael E. Lively

Michael E. Lively is a local product, born and raised in the greater Cincinnati area. After graduating from Princeton High School, he majored in accounting at the University of Cincinnati College of Business Administration and was a Vorheis Scholar. During this time, he served as a member and Treasurer of the University Men’s Chorus. After graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1993 with his BBA, he returned to U.C. the following fall to begin his studies at the College of Law. While in law school he was  a member and officer of the Federalist Society. Mike graduated and was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1996.

During and following law school, Mike worked almost 6 years for State Farm where he handled all phases and aspects of complex first and third-party automobile insurance claims. He joined Markesbery & Richardson in 2002 where his practice primarily includes personal injury, automobile liability, premises liability and insurance coverage along with some construction defect. Since coming to the firm, Mike has additionally been admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Kentucky and Indiana.

Mike serves as general counsel for his church and has been an Adjunct Professor for Mount Vernon Nazarene University where he has taught Business Law, Ethics and Government Regulation on both undergraduate and graduate levels. He is a member of the State bar associations of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Mike and his family make their home in Butler County, OH. His personal interests include music, science fiction and the U.C. Bearcats.
